如果沒有指定引數, 則顯示當前月份.
選項如下所列: 
.IP -m
顯示星期一作為一週的第一天..
(預設為星期日.)
.IP -j
顯示儒略曆的(Julian)日期 (以 1 為基的天數, 從 1 月 1 日開始計數) .
.IP -y
顯示當前年份的日曆.. 
.PP
一個單一的引數指定要顯示的年份 (1 \- 9999) ;
注意年份必須被完全地指定: 
.B cal 89
.IR 不會
顯示1989年的日曆. 
兩個引數表示月份 (1 \- 12) 和年份. 
如果沒有指定引數, 則顯示當前月份的日曆.

一年從Jan 1 (1 月 1 日) 開始.

格里高利曆法改革(Gregorian Reformation)被認為發生於 1752 年 9 月 3 日.
在此之前, 多數國家已經認可這項改革(儘管有一些直到 20 世紀初才認可它).
那天之後的 10 天在這項改革被略去了, 所以那個月的日曆有點不太尋常.
