ct_run \- Program used for starting Common Test from the
    OS command line.

The \fIct_run\fR\& program is automatically installed with Erlang/OTP and the \fICommon Test\fR\& application (for more information, see section Installation in the User\&'s Guide)\&. The program accepts different start flags\&. Some flags trigger \fIct_run\fR\& to start \fICommon Test\fR\& and pass on data to it\&. Some flags start an Erlang node prepared for running \fICommon Test\fR\& in a particular mode\&.

The interface function \fIct:run_test/1\fR\&, corresponding to the \fIct_run\fR\& program, is used for starting \fICommon Test\fR\& from the Erlang shell (or an Erlang program)\&. For details, see the \fIct\fR\& manual page\&.

\fIct_run\fR\& also accepts Erlang emulator flags\&. These are used when \fIct_run\fR\& calls \fIerl\fR\& to start the Erlang node (this makes it possible to add directories to the code server path, change the cookie on the node, start more applications, and so on)\&.

With the optional flag \fI-erl_args\fR\&, options on the \fIct_run\fR\& command line can be divided into two groups:

Options preceding \fI-erl_args\fR\& that \fICommon Test\fR\& does not recognize are also passed on to the emulator untouched\&. By \fI-erl_args\fR\& the user can specify flags with the same name, but with different destinations, on the \fIct_run\fR\& command line\&.

If flags \fI-pa\fR\& or \fI-pz\fR\& are specified in the \fICommon Test\fR\& group of options (preceding \fI-erl_args\fR\&), relative directories are converted to absolute and reinserted into the code path by \fICommon Test\fR\&\&. This is to avoid problems loading user modules when \fICommon Test\fR\& changes working directory during test runs\&. However, \fICommon Test\fR\& ignores flags \fI-pa\fR\& and \fI-pz\fR\& following \fI-erl_args\fR\& on the command line\&. These directories are added to the code path normally (that is, on specified form)\&.

Exit status is set before the program ends\&. Value \fI0\fR\& indicates a successful test result, \fI1\fR\& indicates one or more failed or auto-skipped test cases, and \fI2\fR\& indicates test execution failure\&.

If \fIct_run\fR\& is called with option \fI-help\fR\&, it prints all valid start flags to \fIstdout\fR\&\&.
