是一個 shell 指令碼，用於以一種標準的格式撰寫有關 Octave 的 bug 報告併發送。

通常由 Octave 命令
.B bug_report
啟動，這個命令只能在 Octave 內部，以互動方式呼叫。這種方式是提交 Octave 錯誤報告的最佳放方式。它建立一個錯誤報告的空模板檔案，並用一個編輯器開啟它。編輯完成後，錯誤報告將被髮送到 bug-octave 郵件列表 (這樣做的前提是你的系統可以傳送郵件)。但是，使用者也可以在 Octave 之外使用 \fBoctave-bug\fR 命令。
