The PostScript code is written to standard output. .SH REQUIRED ARGUMENTS .INDENT 0.0 .TP .B \fINGDC\-ids\fP Can be one or more of five kinds of specifiers: .INDENT 7.0 .IP 1. 3 8\-character NGDC IDs, e.g., 01010083, JA010010etc., etc. .IP 2. 3 2\-character codes which will return all cruises from each agency. .IP 3. 3 4\-character codes, which will return all cruises from those vessels. .IP 4. 3 =, where is a table with NGDC IDs, one per line. .IP 5. 3 If nothing is specified we return all cruises in the data base. .UNINDENT .sp (See mgd77info \fB\-L\fP for agency and vessel codes). The ".mgd77" or ".nc" extensions will automatically be appended, if needed (use \fB\-I\fP to ignore certain file types). Cruise files will be looked for first in the current directory and second in all directories listed in \fB$MGD77_HOME\fP/mgd77_paths.txt [If \fB$MGD77_HOME\fP is not set it will default to \fB$GMT_SHAREDIR\fP/mgd77]. .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-J\fP\fIparameters\fP (more ...) Select map projection. .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-R\fP[\fIunit\fP]\fIwest\fP/\fIeast\fP/\fIsouth\fP/\fInorth\fP[/\fIzmin\fP/\fIzmax\fP][\fBr\fP] \fIwest\fP, \fIeast\fP, \fIsouth\fP, and \fInorth\fP specify the region of interest, and you may specify them in decimal degrees or in [+\-]dd:mm[:ss.xxx][W|E|S|N] format. Append \fBr\fP if lower left and upper right map coordinates are given instead of w/e/s/n. The two shorthands \fB\-Rg\fP and \fB\-Rd\fP stand for global domain (0/360 and \-180/+180 in longitude respectively, with \-90/+90 in latitude). Alternatively for grid creation, give \fBR\fP\fIcode\fP\fIlon\fP/\fIlat\fP/\fInx\fP/\fIny\fP, where \fIcode\fP is a 2\-character combination of L, C, R (for left, center, or right) and T, M, B for top, middle, or bottom. e.g., BL for lower left. This indicates which point on a rectangular region the \fIlon\fP/\fIlat\fP coordinate refers to, and the grid dimensions \fInx\fP and \fIny\fP with grid spacings via \fB\-I\fP is used to create the corresponding region. Alternatively, specify the name of an existing grid file and the \fB\-R\fP settings (and grid spacing, if applicable) are copied from the grid. Using \fB\-R\fP\fIunit\fP expects projected (Cartesian) coordinates compatible with chosen \fB\-J\fP and we inversely project to determine actual rectangular geographic region. For perspective view (\fB\-p\fP), optionally append /\fIzmin\fP/\fIzmax\fP\&. In case of perspective view (\fB\-p\fP), a z\-range (\fIzmin\fP, \fIzmax\fP) can be appended to indicate the third dimension. This needs to be done only when using the \fB\-Jz\fP option, not when using only the \fB\-p\fP option. In the latter case a perspective view of the plane is plotted, with no third dimension. .UNINDENT .SH OPTIONAL ARGUMENTS .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-A\fP[\fBc\fP][\fIsize\fP][,\fIspacing\fP] Append \fBc\fP to annotate using the MGD77 cruise ID [Default uses the filename prefix]. Optional \fIsize\fP is the font size in points. The leg annotation font is controlled by FONT_LABEL\&. By default, each leg is annotated every time it enters the map region. Alternatively, append ,\fIspacing\fP to place this label every \fIspacing\fP units apart along the track. Append one of the units \fBk\fP (km), \fBn\fP (nautical mile), \fBd\fP (day), or \fBh\fP (hour). .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-B\fP[\fBp\fP|\fBs\fP]\fIparameters\fP (more ...) Set map boundary intervals. .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-C\fP\fBf\fP|\fBg\fP|\fBe\fP .INDENT 7.0 .TP .B Select procedure for along\-track distance calculation: \fBf\fP Flat Earth distances. \fBg\fP Great circle distances [Default]. \fBe\fP Geodesic distances on current GMT ellipsoid. .UNINDENT .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-Da\fP\fIstartdate\fP Do not plot data collected before \fIstartdate\fP (yyyy\-mm\-dd\fBT\fP[hh:mm:ss]) [Default is first day]. .TP \fB\-Db\fP\fIstopdate\fP Do not plot data collected after \fIstopdate\fP (yyyy\-mm\-dd\fBT\fP[hh:mm:ss]). [Default is last day]. .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-F\fP Do not apply the error bit flags if present in a MGD77+ file [Default will apply these flags upon reading the data]. .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-G\fP\fBd\fP|\fBt\fP|\fBn\fP\fIgap\fP Let successive point separations exceeding \fBd\fP\fIgap\fP (km) or \fBt\fP\fIgap\fP (minutes) indicate a break in the track where we should not draw a line [no gaps recognized]. Repeat to use both types of gap checking. The \fBn\fP\fIN\fP form is used to plot only one every other \fIN\fP points. This is useful to reduce plot file size bat cannot be used (will be ignored) with the other two gap types. .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-I\fP\fIignore\fP Ignore certain data file formats from consideration. Append \fBa|c|m|t\fP to ignore MGD77 ASCII, MGD77+ netCDF, MGD77 t ASCII, or plain table files, respectively. The option may be repeated to ignore more than one format. [Default ignores none]. .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-K\fP (more ...) Do not finalize the PostScript plot. .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-L\fP\fItrackticks\fP To put time/distance log\-marks on the track. E.g. \fBa\fP500\fBka\fP24\fBht\fP6\fBh\fP means (\fBa\fP)nnotate every 500 km (\fBk\fP) and 24 \fBh\fP(ours), with (\fBt\fP)ickmarks every 500 km and 6 hours. Alternatively you may use the modifiers \fBd\fP (days) and \fBn\fP (nautical miles). .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-O\fP (more ...) Append to existing PostScript plot. .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-P\fP (more ...) Select "Portrait" plot orientation. .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-Sa\fP\fIstartdist\fP[\fBu\fP] Do not plot data that are less than \fIstartdist\fP meter along track from port of departure. Append \fBk\fP for km, \fBm\fP for miles, or \fBn\fP for nautical miles [Default is 0 meters]. .TP \fB\-Sb\fP\fIstopdist\fP[\fBu\fP] Do not plot data that are more than \fIstopdist\fP meter along track from port of departure. Append \fBk\fP for km, \fBm\fP for miles, or \fBn\fP for nautical miles [Default is end of track]. .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-TT\fP|\fBt\fP|\fBd\fP\fIms\fP,\fImc\fP,\fImfs\fP,\fImf\fP,\fImfc\fP Controls the attributes of the three kinds of markers (\fBT\fP for the first time marker in a new day, \fBt\fP for additional time markers in the same day, and \fBd\fP for distance markers). For each of these you can specify the 5 comma\-separated attributes \fImarkersize\fP, \fImarkercolor\fP, \fImarkerfontsize\fP, \fImarkerfont\fP, and \fImarkerfontcolor\fP\&. Repeat the \fB\-T\fP option for each marker type. .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-U\fP[\fIjust\fP/\fIdx\fP/\fIdy\fP/][\fBc\fP|\fIlabel\fP] (more ...) Draw GMT time stamp logo on plot. .UNINDENT .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-W\fP[\fB\-\fP|\fB+\fP][\fIpen\fP] Append \fIpen\fP used for the trackline. [Defaults: width = default, color = black, style = solid]. A leading \fB+\fP will use the lookup color (via \fB\-C\fP) for both symbol fill and outline pen color, while a leading \fB\-\fP will set outline pen color and turn off symbol fill. .UNINDENT .sp \fB\-X\fP[\fBa\fP|\fBc\fP|\fBf\fP|\fBr\fP][\fIx\-shift\fP[\fBu\fP]] .INDENT 0.0 .TP \fB\-Y\fP[\fBa\fP|\fBc\fP|\fBf\fP|\fBr\fP][\fIy\-shift\fP[\fBu\fP]] (more ...)
