.TH KMO_FITS_STRIP "7" "1.3.5" "kmo_fits_strip" "kmos recipes" .SH NAME kmo_fits_strip \- Strip noise, rotator and/or empty extensions from a processed KMOS fits frame .SH SYNOPSIS esorex .B kmo_fits_strip [OPTIONS] FILE.sof .SH DESCRIPTION With this recipe KMOS fits frames can be stripped in following way: \-\-noise All noise extensions will be removed. Only the data extensions remain. .PP \-\-angle Applies only to calibration products from kmo_flat and kmo_wave_cal. .PP All extensions matching provided angle are kept, the others are removed. .PP Supply a single integer value. .PP \-\-empty All empty extensions will be removed. .PP \-\-extension Supply a comma\-separated string with integer values indicating the extensions to keep. The other extensions are removed (any data or noise information is disregarded, the values are interpreted absolutely) The parameters \-\-noise, \-\-angle and \-\-empty can be combined. .PP When \-\-extension is specified, all other parameters are ignored. .PP When no parameter is provided, no output will be generated. .PP Input files: DO KMOS category Type Explanation Required #Frames \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- \-\-\-\-\- \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- \-\-\-\-\-\-\- F2D or frame to strip Y 1 F3I or F2I or F1I or Output files: DO KMOS category Type Explanation \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- \-\-\-\-\- \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- STRIP F2D or Stripped frame F3I or F2I or F1I .SH OPTIONS .TP \fB\-\-empty\fR \fI\fR TRUE: if empty extensions shall be removed, FALSE: otherwise (bool; default: False). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is \fBkmos.kmo_fits_strip.noise\fR [default = \fIFalse\fR]. .TP \fB\-\-angle\fR \fI\fR All extensions not matching provided angle are stripped. (long; default: \-1). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is \fBkmos.kmo_fits_strip.angle\fR [default = \fI\-1\fR]. .TP \fB\-\-extension\fR \fI\fR Comma\-separated string with integers. All extensions matching these values are stripped. (str; default: None). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is \fBkmos.kmo_fits_strip.extension\fR [default = \fINone\fR]. .PP Note that it is possible to create a configuration file containing these options, along with suitable default values. Please refer to the details provided by the 'esorex \-\-help' command. .SH SEE ALSO The full documentation for the kmos pipeline can be downloaded as a PDF file using the following URL: .IP .B ftp://ftp.eso.org/pub/dfs/pipelines/kmos/kmos\-pipeline\-manual\-2.9.pdf .PP An overview over the existing ESO pipelines can be found on the web page \fBhttp://www.eso.org/sci/software/pipelines/\fR. .PP Basic documentation about the EsoRex program can be found at the esorex (1) man page. .PP It is possible to call the pipelines from python using the python\-cpl package.
