.SH DESCRIPTION

Merges the content of all input files given on the command line and sort
the result.
Objects are sorted by type, ID, and version.

This works with normal OSM data files, history files, and change files.

Set verbose mode.
The program will output information about what it is doing to

The format of the input file(s).
Can be used to set the input format if it can\[aq]t be autodetected from
the file name(s).
This will set the format for all input files, there is no way to set the
format for some input files only.

details.

The format of the output file.
Can be used to set the output file format if it can\[aq]t be

Call fsync after writing the output file to force flushing buffers to
disk.

It will be added to the header of the output file.

Allow an existing output file to be overwritten.

Add output header option.

.SH MEMORY USAGE
.PP
\f[B]osmium sort\f[] keeps the contents of all the input files in main
memory.
This will take roughly 10 times as much memory as the files take on disk
in \f[I]\&.osm.bz2\f[] or \f[I]osm.pbf\f[] format.
