.TH finger@ 1 .SH NAME finger@ \- gets user information from a remote host. .SH SYNOPSIS .B finger@ [ .I host [ .I user ] ] .SH DESCRIPTION .B finger@ connects to TCP port 79 (Finger) on .IR host , sends .I user (with an extra CR) to .IR host , and prints any data it receives. It removes CR and converts unprintable characters to a visible format. Some computers respond to port 79 with information about .IR user . If .I user is not supplied, .B finger@ sends a blank line to host. Some computers respond with information about all the users who are logged in.
