ttytype \- mappatura tra il nome dei terminali e il tipo di terminale di default
.SH DESCRIZIONE
Il file
.I /etc/ttytype
associa i nomi dei terminali per
.BR termcap (5)/ terminfo (5)
ai nomi delle linee tty.
Ogni riga consiste di un nome di terminale seguito da
uno spazio, seguito da un nome di tty (un nome di periferica senza il prefisso
.IR /dev/ ")."

Questa associazione viene usata dal programma
.BR tset (1)
per impostare la variabile d'ambiente
.B TERM
al nome di terminale predefinito per
il tty attuale dell'utente.

Questa funzionalità è progettata per una ambiente tradizionale a partizione di tempo con
terminali a celle di caratteri collegate ad un minicomputer UNIX.
È di poca utilità con le moderne stazioni di lavoro e i sistemi UNIX personali.
