.SH "DESCRIPTION"
.IX Header "DESCRIPTION"
Math::BigInt::GMP is a backend library for Math::BigInt, Math::BigFloat,
Math::BigRat and related modules.
.PP
Math::BigInt::GMP provides support for big integer calculations by means of the
\&\s-1GMP C\s0 library. See for more information about the \s-1GMP\s0
library.
.PP
Math::BigInt::GMP no longer uses Math::GMP, but provides its own \s-1XS\s0 layer to
access the \s-1GMP C\s0 library. This cuts out another (Perl subroutine) layer and
also reduces the memory footprint.
.PP
Math::BigInt::GMP inherits from Math::BigInt::Lib.
