Since a large part of libixp's purpose revolves around creating
virtual filesystems, a small library of utility functions are
provided towards furthering that end. They are mainly intended
for applications providing simple, largely static virtual
filesystems containing control files and event feeds, though
they are easily adaptable to other ends.
