.TH GeoIP.conf 5 "2 Aug 2018" .UC 4 .SH NAME GeoIP.conf - Configuration file for geoipupdate .SH SYNOPSIS This file allows you to configure your .BR geoipupdate " program to download purchased GeoIP2 and GeoIP Legacy databases. .SH DESCRIPTION The file consists of one setting per line. Lines starting with .B # are comments and will not be processed. All setting keywords are case sensitive. .PP The default configuration file is found at: /etc/GeoIP.conf .PP .SS Required settings: .TP .B EditionIDs List of database edition IDs. Edition IDs may consist of letters, digits, and dashes (e.g., "GeoIP2-City", "106"). Note: this was formerly called .BR ProductIds ". .PP .SS Optional settings: .PP .TP .B AccountID Your MaxMind account ID. This was formerly known as .BR UserId ". This is required when downloading a paid database. .TP .B LicenseKey Your case-sensitive MaxMind license key. This is required when downloading a paid database. .TP .B DatabaseDirectory The directory to store the database files. The default is /var/lib/GeoIP .TP .B Host The host name of the server to use. The default is .BR updates.maxmind.com ". .TP .B Proxy The proxy host name or IP address. You may optionally specify a port number, e.g., .BR 127.0.0.1:8888 ". If no port number is specified, 1080 will be used. .TP .B ProxyUserPassword The proxy user name and password, separated by a colon. For instance, .BR username:password ". .TP .B PreserveFileTimes Whether to preserve modification times of files downloaded from the server. This option is either .BR 0 " or " 1 ". The default is " 0 ". .TP .B LockFile The lock file to use. This ensures only one .B geoipupdate process can run at a time. Note: Once created, this lockfile is not removed from the filesystem.
