.SH DESCRIPTION
This engine selects a single value from a multiple-value field, based on the input field \*(Cbindex\f1. The type of the input field can be any subclass of \*(CbSoMField\f1, and the type of the output is the corresponding subclass of \*(CbSoSField\f1.
\&For example, if the input type is \*(CbSoMFVec3f\f1, the output type will be \*(CbSoSFVec3f\f1. The type is specified when an instance of the class is created. For example, \*(CbSoSelectOne(SoMFFloat::getClassTypeId())\f1  creates an engine that selects one floating-point value.

\&that unlike most other engine fields, the \*(Cbinput\f1 field and \*(Cboutput\f1 are pointers. Note also that by default \*(Cbinput\f1 does not contain any values, and no value is output from the engine.
