A \fI/etc/shells\fP egy szövegfájl, amely tartalmazza a teljes útvonalait az
érvényes login burkoknak. Ezzel a fájlal kommunikál a \fBchsh\fP(1), de más
programok is lekérhetik.

Tudni illik, hogy vannak programok, amelyek ezzel a fájlal "konzultálnak"
azért, hogy megállapítsák egy felhasználóról, hogy átlagos\-e. Pl. az FTP
